Aims
The objective of this course is to give a documented introduction of Armenia and Georgia : historic evolution, literary genre, links with the Greek Christian literature and the Christian Middle East.
Main themes
General basic knowledge of the history of Armenia and Georgia from V to XV century. Use of the accessible working tools and how to complete them. Main authors of the Armenian and Georgian literatures and of their works (original compositions and translations)
The course does not require any knowledge of Armenian and Georgian.
Content and teaching methods
The course goes over the personalities and the most striking literatures of both nations and whenever it is possible refers to accessible translations in western languages.

Prerequisite : the knowledge of Armenian and Georgian is not necessary to follow the course.
Evaluation : oral exam.
Texts and books : documents will be handed out by the professor.
