Aims
Introductory course aiming to present the general contexts of Greek literature, situating these within a general history of culture.
Main themes
Study of literary genres, important works and authors, centres of literary activity and the important moments of their development.
Content and teaching methods
The lecture course covers a variety of topics relating to the history of Greek poetic texts. In addition to providing a broad outline of the history of Greek literature and a description of the most important Greek authors, lectures are also intended to make students aware of the conditions governing the creation of this body of literature: its historical context, material, ideological and literary constraints, and the influence which successive Western interpretations of these works have had on our current perception of them.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
