Aims

- To develop a base knowledge of the main research and theoretical models related to the question of the factors of learning in adult formation.
- To be able, in the light of the theoretical frames presented in the course, to analyse the factors likely to favour or to stand in the way of the learning in practical situations of formation.
- To be able, on the basis of this analysis, to draw the ways of action for the practices of formation.

Main themes

Presentation and discussion of research and theories about the learning factors in adult formation. Special attention will be paid to the affective and cognitive factors on the psychosocial (social interactions, social categorisation, social identity, social support, etc.) and intra-individual levels (feeling of competence, self-concept and identity dynamic, personal aims, feeling of auto-determination, future perspective, emotions, etc.). Lectures, case studies, group discussions. This course is the continuation of the courses of psychology of learning and of social psychology and are a part of the basis of the course FOPA 2350 "Analysis of the formation devices in the field of formation-insertion-elimination of illiteracy.

Content and teaching methods

Presentation and discussion of research and theories about the learning factors in adult formation. Special attention will be paid to the affective and cognitive factors on the psychosocial (social interactions, social categorisation, social identity, social support, etc.) and intra-individual levels (feeling of competence, self-concept and identity dynamic, personal aims, feeling of auto-determination, future perspective, emotions, etc.). Lectures, case studies, group discussions. It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of individual and group appropriation of the contents. Illustrations from the various fields of education and from adults formation.
