The content of this course will be chosen from within the body of the Christian scriptures, either on a thematic basis (e.g. the resurrection de Jesus, or specific features of the message of St Paul) or on a literary basis (e.g. the gospels and prophetic literature). This will be an introductory course to the Christian scriptures, and students will be able to expect from it the same standard of rigour as they can expect from any other subject at the university.
A course like this can be of as much interest to non-believers who want to know about western culture as to believers who want to know more about their faith, and find out about the truth and meaning of their faith while making contact with sources.
