Aims

This course, given to students who did follow a similar course in their first two years , deals with religious questions at a university level. It aims to offer to the Christian student a comprehension of his or her faith that is situated at the level of his or her secular knowledge, and to the non-Christian student an objective knowledge of the Christian faith. Thus, it is not a course about deontology or professional ethics, but a theology course which is adapted to the sensitivity of a group of (future) lawyers

Main themes

Content and teaching methods

This course, given to students registered for the degree in law who did not include such a course in their first degree programme, deals with religious questions at a university level. It aims to offer to the Christian student a comprehension of his or her faith that is situated at the level of his or her secular knowledge, and to the non-Christian student an objective knowledge of the Christian faith. Thus, it is not a course about deontology or professional ethics, but a theology course which is adapted to the sensitivity of a group of (future) lawyers.

Christian faith and especially its anthropology and conception of God is developed, starting from a narrative and existential study of some main texts from the Old Testament (the mythical narratives of Genesis, the Decalogue) which are approached from a Christian hermeneutical perspectiveAs far as the evaluation is concerned, the student has to chose between an oral examination and the oral presentation of a personal thesis inspired by the lectures.
