Aims
- Help the understanding of the course analytical chemistry II (CHIM 2154)
- Familiarize the student with the theory-experience relation
- Train the student to a professional behaviour in a chemistry laboratory
- Give the student an initiative spirit towards practical processes
Main themes
A series of practical exercises on electroanalytical, spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques, are proposed. The student should rely on his course CHIM 2151 and on the available literature in order to select in a reasonable way reactants and to define the appropriate operating modes. At the end of this course, the students should be able to propose analysis schemes to be applied to samples of average complexity.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
Prerequisites: general chemistry (candidature), CHIM2151 and CHIM2154 courses. Quantitative chemical data processing.
Evaluation: continuous assessment. Good knowledge of theory is required for correct execution of exercises. Global exercise on overall CHIM2151 and CHIM2154 courses at the end of the education.
Support: syllabus and bibliography available for students.
