Aims
This course will be mainly given by professors and specialists from Chinese origin. It will give an introduction of the Chinese civilisation, especially the elements that are the least available in the usual programs of the university. We will try to have different subjects each year.
Main themes
One or maximum two specific subjects will be presented during the 15 hour-course: the favourite topics are :
· the confrontation between the traditional civilisation and the modernity
· communication
· the comparison of the civilisation and science and techniques in china and Europe.
Content and teaching methods
The history of contemporary China and the Chinese migration waves.- cultural and tradition problems of the Overseas Chinese people. The overseas Chinese communities, comparison of a community of South-East Asia and of elsewhere.- the relationship between the Overseas Chinese and of Popular China : Investment, donations and cultural exchanges.
