Administrative organisation of a museum; insertion in the country's administrative framework, statutes, status of the staff.

Content and teaching methods
Theoretical and practical lectures treating museology as a discipline linking active programmes and a critical understanding of this branch of science. Conceptual, historical and technical aspects of museums as a cultural and material depository, as a place of study, creation and education. Typology and historical overview embracing the collection, architecture, institution, research-related activities, of exhibitions, dissemination, preservation and restoration. The Louvain-la-Neuve museum is a permanent laboratory. Practical exercises are suggested in Belgian and foreign museums.
