Aims

The objective is to get the students initiated to the reseach methodology, enabling them to have a critical judgement on research texts in didactics of French as a foreign language (for instance based on experiments). It also allows them to make some interpretative research for the dissertation.

Main themes

2.1. Epistemological aspects of interpretative research.
2.2. Technical dimension of such a research.
2.3. Collecting information :
- observation
- interview
2.4. Analysis and interpretation of the data.
2.5. Critical dimension : criteria and " scientificity ".

Content and teaching methods

The student is initiated to the research methodology enabling him/her to have a critical judgement on research texts in didactics of French as a foreign language (for instance based on experiments).It also allows the student to make some interpretative research for the dissertation. There are for instance analyses of oral and written texts of people whose mothertongue is not French. This allows us to have a critical view on the methods of learning French.

Evaluation : The student presents a brief question in a report.
