Content and teaching methods

The course in special private international law aims to ensure an in-depth study of various specific questions of private international law, conflict of laws and conflict of jurisdiction.

The questions are chosen according to current events.

In 2003-2004, the course was given by J.-Y. Carlier. It dealt with the influence of fundamental rights, namely those established in the European context, on private international law

.In 2004-2005, the course was given by M. Fallon. It dealt with various themes linked to the codification of private international law in Belgium, in third countries and in the European Union.

Method
:- Students participate in the lectures by examining cases or acts that will be discussed. Students from foreign universities may be asked to present the point of view of private international law in their country of origin.
