Aims

By the end of this course, the student should have become familiar with a specific aspect of the phenomenological method (descriptive, hermeneutical, linguistic, etc.).

Main themes

We shall either study a cardinal topic of phenomenology through different texts from different authors, or deepen our understanding of one author through a study of some of that author's main texts.

Pre-requisites:
Course on history of contemporary philosophy

Assessment:

Based on the essay and on the student's defense of it at the exam.

Supporting material:

The texts commented on in class as well as the texts studied by the student.
