Seminar

Large lozenge and domino tilings

by Dan Betea (KU Leuven)

Location: CYCL03 (MdeHemptinne), Louvain-la-Neuve
Time: Wednesday January 8, 2020 at 15:00

We survey old, recent, and not-yet-published results on large lozenge/domino tilings of simple domains in the plane. We concentrate on limit shape results (for plane partitions, pyramid partitions, and Aztec diamonds), and mention fluctuation results around limit shapes as time permits. The talk is partly based on work with Jérémie Bouttier, Mirjana Vuletić, Peter Nejjar, and on work-in-progress with Cedric Boutillier and Mirjana Vuletić.
