The LSB, founded in 1936, is an association that gathers linguists from Belgium, whatever their research interests and theoretical backgrounds.

What does the LSB do?
The LSB organises an annual Linguists’ Day, a non-thematic study day. For young researchers this is an informal opportunity to present a (first) paper and to meet other Belgian researchers, but experienced scholars are also more than welcome! A selection of contributions is published in the web journal Papers of the Linguistic Society of Belgium.
In addition, the LSB ensures the publication of the international scientific journal The Belgian Journal of Linguistics (edited and distributed by John Benjamins, in English). Each volume contains a selected set of peer-reviewed, thematic articles, sometimes based on papers read at a thematic conference organized at a Belgian university with support of the LSB.
Finally, members of the LSB have access to an automatic mailing list, which allows for a quick and easy exchange of information.
What does membership of the LSB mean?
As a member, you can participate in the annual Linguists’ Day for free, you can spread upcoming linguistic events and job opportunities via the mailing list, you benefit from a discount rate at the thematic conference, … and you support the functioning of the LSB!
