Programme structure

The programme of the Master in Criminology is built around core courses mainly taught in the first year, on the basis of which students are invited to take the research or professional focus in the second year, as described above, for a total of 120 credits.

 

The program of the first year of the master consists of:

  • courses and practical exercises of core (compulsory) (distributed throughout the year);
  • a course in English or Dutch;
  • the accompanying seminar (2nd semester).

 

The program of the second year of the master consists of:

  • a course in English or Dutch;
  • a choice of focus, accounting for 30 credits (5 courses of 6 credits, spread over 2 semesters):
    • specialized in criminology purpose of the intervention,
    • the research focus,
  • professional internship of 300 h and its accompanying seminar (1st semester);
  • the dissertation (spread over the whole year).


For a programme-type, and regardless of the focus, options/or elective courses selected, this master will carry a minimum of 120 credits divided over two annual units, corresponding to 60 credits each.
