When you enrol for Modern Languages and Letters: German, Dutch and English, you have the choice of combining two Germanic languages, chosen from English, Dutch and German.
You
Graduates in Modern Languages and Letters: German, Dutch and English work in business (management, administration, etc.) ; some become teachers, editors, translators or interpreters, others journalists or proof-readers ; yet others become managers, company secretaries, booksellers, legal advisers, tourist guides or work as attachés in government departments or NGOs.
Some seek a career in the performing arts such as the theatre. This training also opens the door to a wide range of other types of employment which do not (yet) have an official title.

Introduction
When you enrol for Modern Languages and Letters: German, Dutch and English, you have the choice of combining two Germanic languages, chosen from English, Dutch and German.
By the end of the first cycle you will have
- gained a solid knowledge, both practical and theoretical, of the two languages ;
- gained solid general, literary and linguistic knowledge ;
- had the chance of a stay abroad.

Your future job

Your programme
The Bachelor’s degree offers you the opportunity to
- learn the many facets of two modern languages ;
- make an in-depth study of the culture, linguistics and the literature of the two languages ;
- get practically oriented training in your chosen languages : courses given in the languages, specific courses on communication skills, practical exercises, language labs, conversation courses, wide variety of multimedia tools, etc. ;
- have close supervision in small-scale auditoria ;
- make a study visit abroad as part of the Erasmus exchange programme
Having completed the Bachelor’s degree, you may take the Master’s degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (German, Dutch and English or General), depending on the subject of the first cycle programme.
