"Speech and language therapists work in the field of communication and language therapy. They intervene in disorders involving speech, the voice and oral and written language, whatever their origin, in children, adolescents, adults and elderly people." (The Permanent Liaison Committee for Speech Therapists of

the European Union, a European grouping of national professional associations in the European Union).

The programme provides the psychological, medical, linguistic and methodological foundations relevant to speech and language therapy. It develops the necessary skills to analyze the complexity of human behaviour, relationships and situations with their biological and sociocultural aspects. To be able to go on to the Master in speech and language therapy, students must :
- acquire the knowledge (medical, psychological, linguistic, sociocultural and philosophical), concepts and theories which underpin this analysis;
- develop critical analytical skills of their implications and conditions of use in patients;
- have good oral and written communication skills, including in English ;
- acquire the methodologies necessary to practise the profession.

Assessment is through written or oral examinations held during the examination sessions.
