Students must follow all the core subjects totalling 45 credits (15 of which are for the dissertation) and make up the rest of their programme with optional courses focused on regional subjects (e.g. Belgium, Europe or Asia) and language classes to reach the required  60 credits.

The core subjects concentrate on the different fields in political science (comparative politics, international relations, European studies, public policy and administration).

• 35 credits for political science courses including the following four (or their equivalent): POLS 1312 Comparative Politics (5 credits), POLS 1317A Geopolitics and the International System (1st part, 5 credits), POLS 1223 Theory of Organizations and Public Policy (6 credits) , POLS 1323 European Institutions and Policies (4 credits)
• 10 credits from courses on the methodology of social sciences
• 6 credits from English language courses. Students must have reached intermediate level.

Courses which have not already been taken may be added to the Master study programme, up to a total of 15 credits. It is up to the  academic coordinator of the programme to agree the equivalences between different courses. If the total of the prerequisite subjects is more than 15 credits, entry to  the Master programme is subject to the satisfactory completion of a preparatory year and gaining a maximum of 60 credits.

o Variety of teaching strategies (including e-learning) :
- Most of the teaching staff are familiar with new multi-media technology and innovations introduced by the University Teaching Institute (l’Institut de pédagogie universitaire) . The overall rhythm and workload of the programme is carefully coordinated each year.
- The seminars are primarily designed to help students with the methodological structure of their final piece of work.

o Different learning situations :
- the seminars bring together cross-disciplinary elements. The tutoring system helps students to combine the different subjects in order to produce their dissertation.
