Core courses

The core subjects are designed to give all students a good foundation in the problems of population and development and the ways in which they interact. There is special emphasis on the changes in space and time brought about by population/development issues which is reflected in the choice of subjects in the core subjects.

Students who have already completed one or more core subjects are required to seek the agreement of the programme director to take other subjects from the Master syllabus in their place.

A dissertation on a professional focus may be done following a placement (of 1 to 2 months) in an organization in Belgium, Europe or a Southern country.
