Teaching methodStrong points of the pedagogical approach A certain number of courses (prefixed MCEU) are specific to the Advanced Master in European Law and the Advanced Master in International law: this gives added reinforcement to the way in which international and European subjects are brought together. This is a long established Louvain tradition. The final assignment consists of a special seminar on European law throughout the academic year for 2 hours per week starting from the 7th week of classes, as well as a series of lectures on current issues. Experience has shown that this way of working is more helpful and effective for students, particularly those from foreign countries, than the solitary production of a traditional ‘dissertation’, possibly in another language.
The final assessment is continuously assessed ; there is also an assessment of the written overview and the dissertation. Apart from this, assessment is through written or oral examinations.
