Teaching method

Teaching philosophy requires close proximity between students and their teachers. Hence professors are readily available for answering questions, clarifying an exposé or orienting students in their personal work, be this at the end of courses or individually during office hours or by appointment. Teaching philosophy also presupposes a personal involvement on the student's part, who, as of the first year, must dedicate himself to reading the major texts of the tradition. That's why particular attention is paid to accompanying students. The practical works and supervised readings are directed by assistants who, all year long, progress with the students, so as to little by little instill in them the art of reading – reading philosophical texts necessitates an apprenticeship – and the principles of writing commentaries and philosophical dissertations.
