The classroom activities require a certain amount of preparation on the part of the student (exercises, vocabulary, …)

Evaluation methods
Homework will be assigned before every class in order to help our students progress throughout the year. These tasks will not be evaluated as such, but will be included in a participation grade. The student will therefore not only have to actively participate in the classes, but also complete the different tasks and correct them according to the teacher's feedback. The evaluation at the end of the semester will allow the student to assess this progress.
Practically:
First semester (40% of the total grade)
The written evaluation will take place in week 14. Students will have to study the thematic vocabulary of the syllabus as well as the grammar. Students will also have to write a summary of an article. This test will count for 18 points out of the 20 (Q1).
Second semester (60% of the total grade)
In Q2, the student will have to do the following tasks:
1. Presentation of a group work related to the field of communication (4 points) OR Tandem project
Video project: the students will present in class or on Teams, in groups of two or alone (depending on the current health situation) an "unknown" village of Wallonia OR one of their passions. They will have to make a video and a PowerPoint to talk about the subject. Students will be evaluated on the language, but also on creativity
OR: tandem project
2. Oral evaluation (6/20)
The oral evaluation will take place in the June session. This will be an individual evaluation: students will have to talk about two articles of their choice (related to one of subjects of the syllabus or a theme related to communication), as well as the topics covered in the course (themes/videos/project).
3. Written exam (8 points): the written evaluation will take place in week 13. Students will have to study the thematic vocabulary of the syllabus + reading comprehension + written expression. This written expression could take place before Easter or during the exam in S13.
4. Participation grade (2 points)
Important
If the student does not pass the January test or submits a medical certificate, he or she must retake this part in Q2 (he or she will retake the entire test, i.e. January and June). For the September exam: there will be a written test on Q1 and Q2, as well as an oral exam. The permanent evaluation will be taken into account if it is in favor of the student.
