Main themes
  • Exercises identification and description of artworks.
  • Learning and appropriate use of everyday vocabulary of art history (architecture, sculpture, painting and decorative arts) and musicology (basic vocabulary and typology of musical instruments from iconography).
  • Identification of the documentary typology and introduction to a system of references.
  • Exercises in reading and synthesis of a scientific article (in art history and / or in musicology).
  • Introduction to heuristics and basic textbooks in art history and musicology.
  • Introduction to some aspects of the study of a work of art and writing a scientific text incorporating a state of the art and a critical apparatus.
  • Exercises in comparison of biographies of musicians, including musicians or actors of the musical world
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of this teaching unit, the students will have been introduced in the terminology of art history and musicology, heuristic principles, bibliographic references, observation, description and analysis of artwork, writing, illustration and presentation of a scientific work.
