This teaching unit further develops the intermediate level (beginning of part 2) and the student should have followed the teaching unit of intermediate level (continuation and end of part 1) LNEER1333 or a course of similar level (level B2- of the CEF for the listening skills, level B2 for the reading skills, level B1 for the speaking skills and B1- for the writing skills).

Content
This teaching unit is structured around themes of general interest and field-related themes for each of which receptive and productive activities aimed at consolidating and broadening vocabulary and grammar are provided.
Teaching methods
This teaching unit is structured around themes, each of which includes receptive and productive activities aimed at consolidating and broadening vocabulary and grammar. This teaching unit focuses mainly on oral production about field-related themes. Video and audio fragments are used to illustrate the themes.
For each theme discussions or role plays are provided giving the student the possibility to use the newly acquired vocabulary. The student will also have to give a presentation on a topic related to the field of communication.
The classroom activities require a certain amount of preparation on the part of the student (exercises, vocabulary, …)

Evaluation methods
During Q1, the student will be evaluated as such (30% of total grade)
- Grammar test
- Vocab test
- Writting skills (infografic + article)
- Presentation
- Presentation of a topic related to the field of communication (20% of Q2)
- Oral exam during the exam period. This exam consists of a conversation about a text or a video that was seen in class and/or about a newspaper article (provided by the student) related to one of the themes discussed in class. (40% of Q2)
- Written exam during the last week of Q2: vocabulary, grammar, listening skills, reading skills and writing skills (40% of Q2)
- The written skills will be evaluated during the semester (and will be a part of the written exam grade)
