Has your funder asked you to publish in Open Access and are you wondering about the various options available? Would you like to find tools and resources to find a journal and guide you through the various publisher policies? Are you wondering what your Open Access obligations are? Would you like to find out more about the DIAL repository and the OJS portal at UCLouvain? This course is for you.


Training aims

On completion of the course, you will be able to :

  1. Understand the different publishing models (commercial, hybrid, full Open Access) and explain their implications for the University and researchers
  2. Compare the different ways of publishing in Open Access
  3. DIAL and OJS: understanding Open Access at UCLouvain
  4. Knowledge of Open Access tools and resources (DOAJ, Sherpa/Romeo, etc.)
  5. Search for Open Access sources on the various generic and disciplinary platforms
  6. Be familiar with Open Access obligations (decree, law, funders requirements, institutional policy)
