Discover the documentary portal of the Libraries of UCLouvain (BIUL) and learn how to navigate on the new interface of the libraries catalogue.

This training enables you to navigate serenely in the new documentary portal and in the catalogue of the Libraries of UCLouvain: https://ils.bib.uclouvain.be/uclouvain/ (variations may occur due to the constant revision of the system).

Training aims

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Access the documentary portal and the catalogue of the Libraries of UCLouvain;
• Navigate on the website and access the numerous tools available;
• Carry out basic documentary research in the catalogue: document type, ressource type (printed or e-book) and results filtering;
• Use the current functionalities of the catalogue: booking documents, asking for their transfer and handling your personnal account.

Prerequisites
Be able to identify the different types of useful documents to generate a bibliography in adequation with academic requirements.

Content

The training will tackle the navigation on the documentary portal. It will also approach the good practices for searching the catalogue of the Libraries of UCLouvain.
