I began my PhD at the Université catholique de Louvain in September 2021, after completing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. As a PhD student, I studied gait control through the analysis of stride-to-stride variability. In particular, my research aimed to better understand the origins of the statistical persistence, naturally exhibited in series of stride durations, using optimal control models. My work also investigated the use of this marker to characterize gait control in patients with Parkinson's disease, whether during natural walking, under rhythmic auditory synchronization, or while performing dual tasks.
