“Longue haleine”: Musical reading by Magyd Cherfi, with Étienne Choquet

Longue Haleine is a curated selection of texts, bringing together key passages from five novels by Magyd Cherfi—a true quintessence of his literary journey.
It offers a vibrant reading of his most powerful pages, while at the same time presenting a playful performance in which the author shares his story with disarming openness, setting aside all artifice—unfolding like a Lido dancer.
Longue Haleine is the unveiling of a mask, revealing both the child he once was and the man he has become. It is an intimate performance, yet open to all—a way of saying “discover me,” while inviting the audience to recognize part of themselves in his narrative.
The performance will take place at Ferme du Biéreau in Louvain-la-Neuve on September 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., preceded by a meet-and-greet and book signing at 6:15 p.m. at the same venue.
This event is organized in the framework of the conference “From Experiences to Storytelling of Postmigration” (September 17–19, 2025, UCLouvain).
