Aims

The Gospel of John
By the end of this course, the student should be able to critically read the Fourth Gospel, based on a general knowledge of this text.

Main themes

To meet this objective, the course is broken down as follows:
- summary approach to the problems of formation and authorship;
- summary approach to the main trends in recent research and the links between the Gospel and Johannine epistles.
The text of the Gospel will be examined (1) by discussing the major articulations of its construction; and (2) by the exegesis of sections representatives of its different aspects.

Status of the Johannine Studies. Survey of the text and detailed examination of some of its elements.

Prerequisite: Initiation with the biblical Greek wished
