Aims
By the end of this course, the student should be able to undertake a critical reading of the Psalms and the sapiential texts of the Old Testament based on general knowledge of this literature.

Main themes
To meet these objectives, the course covers the following :
- introduction to the different literary genres of the biblical Prayer from Psalms, examining the Psalter as a book;
- general introduction to the Wisdom Books, studying its main themes;
- reading certain texts of the Psalter and the Wisdom Books.

Content and teaching methods
Introduction : Comparison with Wisdom in Egypt (specially Amenemope)
Study of four Sapiential Books :
1. Proverbs
2. Job
3. Qohelet
4. Psalms
