Aims
By the end of this course the student should be able:
- to identify the main Christological questions;
- to describe the stages of development of Soteriology;
- to indicate the orientations of present-day Christology and Soteriology;
- to deal with a particular question in this field using an adequate bibliography.
Main themes
To meet these objectives, the course consists in:
- presenting a historical and doctrinal re-reading in Christology and Soteriology;
- introducing the student to the present problems treated in these fields;
- initiating the student to theological work; this part of the course includes an introduction to the elaboration of an issue with the student asked to write a paper with a view to making practical use of what he/she has learned in this initiation.
Content and teaching methods
The teaching analyses Christology and Soteriology from the point of view of biblical, historical and systematic theology.
