Aims
The general objective is to learn how to conceive structure and organise specific educational programmes related to performing arts for secondary school pupils mainly.
Main themes
Content: Students will acquire didactic competences to be applied on performing arts and being able to drawn a constructive research methodology; identify and discuss the concepts of "art", "culture" and "theatre" with regards to the pupils point of views; elaborate an artistic project at school; learn how to increase critical opinions from the pupils as well as assisting them for setting-up a performing arts project. Based on readings and discussions, student will be able to build a progressive evaluation system aimed to assist pupils in the elaboration process of a performing arts project. The lecture will also reflect on the rationals for performing arts education at school; special attention will be dedicated to the different pedagogic methods and their links with performing arts didactic.
Method: The lecture is based on the analysis of case studies, "jeux de rôles", workshops and research on theoretical models for progressive evaluation.
Content and teaching methods
The lecture will tackle the main notions and characteristics of acting training and drama studies as well as developing a progressive evaluation tools to measure outcomes. It will also reflect on performing arts programmes at school and apply educational methodologies and didactic principles to performing arts education.
