Aims
This course provides an introduction to the history and thought of lay humanisms. The course accentuates the diversity of currents, their sources and their specific contributions.
Main themes
The formation and development of lay humanisms is developed in the context of Western societies, showing their interaction with the religions that have marked those societies (essentially Judaism and Christianity). Through an historical itinerary, the course shows the contribution these lay humanisms make to society today.
