Aims
At the end of this course, the students should be able :
- to approach a theme concerning the family, the couple or the sexuality not only from a monodisciplinary point of view but in multi-, pluri-, and transdiciplinaries ways ; to perceive the relations between the various approaches in a same theme or between different themes,
- to work in group on a theme, looking for the appropriate references in the literature, questioning on the scientific value of these sources and the relevance of the approaches, making out a synthesis, contacting guests concerned by the subject and leading a short debate presenting the group work with some guests
Main themes
- to sensitize the students to the various sciences concerned by the family and the sexuality and to a multi-, pluri- or transdisciplinarity of a theme concerning the family, the couple and the sexuality.
- The students, in groups of 8 students, will choose the theme they want to work on and to present, with the supervision of the teachers (insuring the relevance of the chosen theme and the feasability of the work). The content of the course varies thus each year according to the chosen themes.
- As an example, the following themes have already been treated : abortion, transexualism, pregnancy and sexuality, senescence and sexuality, want of child and AIDS, sexuality in jail, choice of the spouse, violence towards the male partner, etc
Content and teaching methods
The aim ot he course is to sensitize the students to the various sciences concerned by the family and the sexuality, and namely their methods, their various approaches and their criteria of scientificalness, by proposing them to organize lectures-conferences.
After the two first courses aimed at showing the specificities of the monodisciplinarian approach on one hand and the pluri- and transdisciplinarian approaches on the other hand in relation with a given theme related to the family or the sexuality, the students are invited to choose, by groups, a theme they will present with the form, the method and the guests they will choose in concertation with the teachers. They realize some research and prepare the work in group, namely via a forum for discussion at their disposal on the website of the course. They report then their work in sessions, with their guests and with the means they have chosen (videos, recorded interviews, " vox pop ", etc
). They finally write a synthesis of their work and of the debate, with a bibliography, put at the disposal of everyone on the website of the course, after supervision and correction by the teachers.
