Aims
At the end of the course, students will be able to distinguish the main literary works and literary movements of the period under consideration. They will be able to discuss the work of one particular author as well as its impact, and compare it with other literary works. They should be able to recognise some representative texts and contextualise them. They should develop their capacity to acquire factual knowledge, to synthesise and understand the works in question.

A chronological survey.
Content and teaching methods
Literary history and its periodisation. The principal movements and works of the period under consideration. Study of the links between the literary works, the cultural output, and the political, social and economic movements of the time.
