Aims

The content of this course is following the needs for post-license formation in Physics of the atmosphere and of the climatic system that have been called out in a systematic manner and in a more and more pressing way these last years. The course is specific to the ASTR unit and its content does not exist in any belgian university.

Main themes

The course contains four parts in which at least two are given each year.
- Astronomical theory of paleoclimates
- Physical oceanography
- Glaciology
- Numerical methods in geophysical fluids

Prerequisites: PHYS 2132 (Introduction to climatic system modelisation).
