Aims

Learn to describe and analyse toxic reactions related to the exposure to environmental substances (at the exception of pharmaceuticals) To assess the risks and consequences of toxic exposures on public health. To understand that the observation of toxic exposures may lead in some instances to the development of new therapeutic strategies

Main themes

Collect of toxicological data. Consequences of toxic exposure in humans. Assessment of risk factors nd severity grading: importance of a critical analysis of the clinical, biological and toxicological data. Management of toxic exposure. Prevention of toxic effects on organs or systems.
All these aspects will be illlustrated by case reports describing acute or chronic exposure to animal toxins, metals, plants, industrial products, household products…

Background: the students are supposed to have basic knowledge of human physiology and anatomy
