Aims

To give real example of application of welding in the industry through lectures, seminars and visits of workshops.

Main themes

The content may vary from year to year according to the opportunities and the fields of students' interest.

Content and teaching methods

In a first part, some prerequisites relatives to the steels metallurgy and its recent developments are introduced.
Among the other themes usually treated, one will mention in particular : the welding of stainless steels, the welding of Aluminium and its alloys, the application of fracture mechanics to welded structures, electron beam welding, …
Visits of filler materials producer, welding equipments manufacturers, welding workshops, …
