Aims

This course has the purpose to give a historical introduction to the Bible, this literary and religious masterpiece of Humanity at the basis of the three great monotheistic religions : Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
The second purpose is to acquire a practical method of reading the various texts of the Bible.

Main themes

General Introduction : the specificity of Christianity :
a. identity of the love for God and for the neighbour
b. life after death and resurrection
Chapter 1 : The history of Israel
Chapter 2 : The different books of the Bible
Chapter 3 : Analysis of some texts of the Bible
Chapter 4 : Jesus, a religious revolutionary
Chapter 5 : The Beatitudes
