Aims

By the end of the course the student should be able to express a critical view on the psycholinguistic approach to mental vocabulary

Main themes

Specific subjects in relation with the research of the department are dealt with on the basis of a guided reading of recent scientific contributions.

Content and teaching methods

Psycholinguistics: the seminar presented in Dutch deals with language as a human system and with the mental lexicon of mono- and bilinguals.
The themes are: human lexicon - organization of the mental lexicon - accessability and retrieval

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

Prerequisite: good proficiency in written and spoken Dutch
Evaluation: presentation of a personal contribution on the basis of articles
