Aims
By the end of this course, the student should have become familiar with a specific aspect of the phenomenological method (descriptive, hermeneutical, linguistic, etc.).
Main themes
We shall either study a cardinal topic of phenomenology through different texts from different authors, or deepen our understanding of one author through a study of some of that author's main texts.
Content and teaching methods
The course is devoted to providing a commentary on the texts. The work of the students will consist of composing and defending an essay that stems from the content of the course but that demonstrates research done outside the course (either individually or in a group).
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
Pre-requisites: Course on history of contemporary philosophy
Assessment: Based on the essay and on the student's defense of it at the exam.
Supporting material: The texts commented on in class as well as the texts studied by the student.
