Aims
The work of the seminar will enable students to verify their personal reappropriation of courses completed at the DES, and to demonstrate their ability to understand a specific theme associated with development studies.
Content and teaching methods
To inform students about South Asia as far as Japan, with their experiences and strategies for socio-economic and political development demonstrating their positive and negative outcomes.
Particular attention will be focused on traditional societies, the irruption from the west, initial attempts at modernisation, development in Japan, and the most recent development policies and strategies.
Methodology
Attendance at sessions that form part of the seminar is compulsory.
