Aims

A the end of this clinical period the student has :
- to be able to obtain anamnesis of patients (children inclusive) presenting all kinds of oral and maxillofacial diseases.
- to be able to examine these patients, to synthetise clinical, nosological and radiological elements
- to be able to discuss the diagnosis and discuss the necessity of complementary investigations in the most frequent oral and maxillofacial diseases
- to propose a symptomatic treatment if indicated
- to treat surgically the patients who require oral surgery

Main themes

- oral mucosa diseases
- maxillary and mandibular osseous diseases, inclusive OMF traumatology
- orofacial pain syndroms
- treatment of medically compromised patients
- dental extraction and oral surgery techniques

Content and teaching methods

- dental extractions, oral surgery, first with the help of a junior staff member , and progressively the student must become autnonomic
- propedeutical lessons

Requirements :
- all theoretical teaching

Evaluation :
- Daily and Trimestrial evaluation (= 60 % of the final points)
- clinical oral exam at the end of the year (= 40% of the final points)

Support :
- all permanent and temporary staff members of the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery
