Aims

The student must be able :
- to understand and explain all physiopathological processes responsible for oral and maxillofacial infections and traumata
- to diagnose and treat all oral and maxillofacial infections and traumata
- to treat theoretically by different surgical techniques all dental lesions which require surgical treatment

Main themes

- oral surgery (extractions, apectomies, frenectomies,.....)
- diagnosis and treatment of dental infections
- diagnosis and treatment of dental traumata
- Principles of maxillofacial traumata treatment

Content and teaching methods

Summary : content and methods
- systematic description of all dental and oral infections and traumata (pathogeny, clinical and radiological symptoms, pathology, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, prognosis and treatment
- step by step description of oral surgery techniques, indications and contra-indications

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

Requirements : microbiology, anatomy and pathology for bachelors

Evaluation :written exam at the end of the first semester by OSRQ
