Aims

An understanding of, and practice in, methods of multivariate analysis of socio-demographic survey data.

Main themes

A presentation (hypotheses, the basic model, and the scope and nature of the results produced) of features such as logistic progressions, survival analyses, the factorial analysis of multiple correspondences, and multi-level analysis.

Content and teaching methods

The course mainly provides training in a form of data analysis that stresses practical aspects. Concrete applications to survey data will be carried out in the context of practical work (Course DEMO 3588).
A presentation of tools and the interpretation of results.

Assessment: This will be based on individual work, together with the analysis of a research topic to be selected by the student.
Pre-requirement: Course DEMO 3432 ("Multivariate analysis I applied to demography and social sciences").
