Aims
To introduce students to the use and interpretation of the results of a multivariate statistical analysis in demography and social sciences.
Main themes
Statistical tests and measuring association between variables.
Ways of analysing interdependences, particularly factorial analysis and analysis in main components.
Analyses of dependence, particularly the analysis of regression.
Analysis of hierarchical classification.
Content and teaching methods
A theoretical course illustrated by examples and the interpretation of results.

Pre-requirements: Course SPED 3245 (Elementary statistics applied to demography and social sciences), DEMO 3415 (Elementary mathematics applied to demography and social sciences) and DEMO 3419 (Introduction to micro-informatics, information technology and data processing).
Assessment: This will be based on work done on DEMO 3480 practice sessions. There will also be an oral examination based on work handed in during the year.
