Main themes

This seminar aims to introduce students to the formal mechanisms for constructing
media writing through an analysis of press articles, sequences, and radio and television programmes.

Content and teaching methods

Content
An examination of all the major journalistic genres used in the press, radio and television through reading and analysing published and broadcast examples.
A focus on formal mechanisms and the structuring of writing for the press.
Methodology
Case studies, and analytical work carried out individually and in groups.

Assessment will be based on work carried out during the year, and on a final check on
knowledge acquired.
Other issues: This Seminar will run in close collaboration with the workshops on writing for the press and radio and television news, which it will enhance with its analyses, and provide with the case studies needed for the students' training.
