Aims

The aims are to improve the student's capacity to summarize, present and critically analyze specific scientific issues, and to become familiar with a wide spectrum of emerging topics.pics.

Emerging topics in the field of molecular and cellular biology.

Content and teaching methods

The seminars in molecular and cellular biology are presented every week by a member of the scientific staff of the University, an invited speaker or a PhD candidate. The topic of each seminar is chosen by the speaker, in agreement with the lecturers. The speaker presents the data and the analysis of a recent article from the litterature. The discussion is oriented towards the elaboration and proposal of experimental approaches to further investigate the scientific problem addressed in the paper.

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

Requirements: Basic understanding of general biochemistry as well as of cellular and molecular biology is required. The students must attend all the seminars and present one, on which the assessment will be based.
Assessment: will be based on the quality of the participation of the students, ad on the quality of the presentation.
Support: The references of the papers presented will be announced electronically by E-mail.
