Aims
To cover recent advances in molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of cellular functions and especially metabolism. To complete the student formation in the frame of his/her research by allowing him/her to present his/her research project and to be confronted with a critical discussion and evaluation of working hypotheses.
Main themes
Presentation and critical analysis of a research work in the field of short-term (covalent modifications) or long-term (through gene expression) control of activity of regulatory proteins (enzymes, transcription factors
), with special attention to signaling cascades involved in hormonal control and development. Discussion of the physiopathological implications of the results.
Content and teaching methods
Presentation of research projects and results on ongoing research in the field of regulation of cellular functions, metabolism and development.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
The student is evaluated on his/her presentation and participation to the discussions. Each participant to the course presents a seminar which is discussed under the guidance of the supervisor and in the light of the relevant scientific literature.
