Aims
This advanced course in agricultural economics mainly consists in showing how specific research endeavours are conceived and undertaken, as well as in indicating the limits of these endeavours and of the associated methods.
Main themes
The program is linked with the research of the people in charge with the DEA (post-graduate program) in Agricultural Economics. Indicatively, topics include : land tenure regime, risk modelling and management in agriculture, fruit markets in Europe, assessment of agronomic research and of agricultural policy reforms, agro-food market integration in Europe, food consumption dynamics (and consequences over future production), externality management, the evolution of institutions and contracts, rural industry, urban-rural relationships,
Content and teaching methods
The content is variable from year to year. Recent research themes are mentioned, benefiting from invited teachers. The participation of students to research seminars, reading of contemporary articles and personalized tuition are the main teaching methods.

Prerequisite: solid microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, agricultural economics and management.
No exam, final assessment based on personal reports, group reports and participation
