Content and teaching methods

Concept of sculpture from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. Aesthetic, iconological, functional and technological characteristics of the sculpture of the period, socio-professional status of sculptors. The Belgian heritage from the 11th to the 18th centuries: typology, stylistic developments, regional diversification and figure heads. Analyses of the works in situ (museums, public buildings). Practical exercises in the Louvain-la-Neuve Museum.
